Terms of Service

Last updated 25 September 2026

1. Who these terms are for

OneCey is run by OneCey (Pvt) Ltd ("OneCey", "we", "us"). These terms cover everyone who uses onecey.app or the OneCey apps: local businesses that use OneCey to bill, manage credit, and reach their own customers ("businesses"), and the people those businesses serve ("customers", "you") who sign in through the OneCey customer portal. By creating an account or ticking "I agree" on sign-up, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy.

A business's own use of OneCey to run its shop (billing, inventory, accounting, and so on) is covered separately by the agreement it signs when it joins OneCey. These terms focus on the customer portal and the features every customer can use — your account, your bills and balances, messaging, Discover, and Vehicle Connect.

2. What OneCey is

OneCey is a platform that connects you with the local businesses you buy from. In one account you can:

  • See your bill history and outstanding balance with every business that has added you as a customer.
  • Get offers, updates, and reminders from those businesses by SMS or WhatsApp.
  • Discover nearby businesses and offers on OneCey.
  • Use Vehicle Connect, so people can reach you about your parked vehicle without your phone number.

OneCey is the platform, not the shop. Your purchases, credit, and any dispute about a bill are between you and the specific business — see section 5.

3. Your account

  • You sign up with your name and mobile number, verified by a one-time code sent by SMS — there's no password.
  • You must be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to create an account.
  • Use your own real mobile number. One account per person — don't create accounts for other people without their knowledge.
  • Keep your device and phone number secure. Anyone with access to your phone can receive your verification codes, so tell us straight away (contact@onecey.app) if your number changes hands or your account is used without your permission.
  • You're responsible for keeping your name, email, and profile photo (all editable in Settings) accurate.

4. One account, many businesses

Your OneCey account is a single identity used across every business on the platform. When a business adds you as a customer — because you signed up in their shop, scanned their invite poster, or joined through the same phone number they already had on file — that business gets its own record of your purchases, credit balance, and any notes they've added about you.

Businesses cannot see your history with any other business. Each business only sees what you've done with them.

5. Bills, balances, and credit

The bills, balances, and credit terms shown in your account are set and maintained by each business, not by OneCey. OneCey provides the record-keeping; we don't decide prices, extend credit, or collect payments on a business's behalf. If something on a bill looks wrong, or you have a dispute about money owed, that's between you and the business — please contact them directly. We're happy to help if you're not sure how, but we're not a party to the transaction itself.

6. Messages from businesses

A business can send you SMS or WhatsApp messages — offers, payment reminders, and similar updates. You control this: SMS and WhatsApp opt-in are separate switches, on by default when a business adds you and changeable per business at any time from "Messages from this business" on that business's page in your account. Turning a channel off stops future messages on that channel from that business; it doesn't affect your bill or balance with them.

If a message contains a link, tapping it may be recorded as a click (see the Privacy Policy) so the business can see whether their messages are being read — this never reveals your other activity on OneCey.

7. Discover

Discover helps you find nearby businesses and their offers. Searching by area, or tapping "use my location", is entirely optional and only happens when you ask for it — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that does and doesn't share.

8. Vehicle Connect

Vehicle Connect lets someone near your parked vehicle scan a QR sticker and send you a short alert (move your vehicle, lights on, and so on) without ever seeing your phone number, and without needing an account themselves. A few things follow from that:

  • It's not an emergency service. Alerts depend on your device having a working internet connection and notifications turned on, and — as a fallback — on SMS delivery. Neither is guaranteed to arrive instantly, or at all. Never rely on Vehicle Connect for anything urgent or safety-critical; call emergency services directly instead.
  • We may pause or suspend alerts to a vehicle if we detect abuse, spam, or repeated false reports, to protect both owners and the people scanning the sticker.
  • Only put a Vehicle Connect sticker on a vehicle you own or are authorised to register.
  • Sending a false, abusive, or harassing alert through a scanned sticker is against these terms and may be reported to the vehicle owner and, where the law requires, to the relevant authorities.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Impersonate another person or business, or create an account with false information.
  • Use OneCey to harass, threaten, or spam anyone, including through Vehicle Connect alerts.
  • Try to access another person's account, or another business's customer data.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the platform, or attempt to bypass rate limits and abuse safeguards.
  • Use OneCey for anything unlawful under Sri Lankan law.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

10. Cost

Creating and using a OneCey customer account is free. Your mobile network's standard SMS/data rates may apply to messages you receive or send, as with any SMS or app.

11. No warranty, limited liability

OneCey is provided "as is". We work to keep it reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service, that every message or alert will be delivered, or that the platform will be error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, OneCey isn't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for disputes, transactions, or communications between you and a business — including anything arising from a delayed or missed Vehicle Connect alert.

12. Ending your account

You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing contact@onecey.app. Closing your account removes your ability to sign in; a business you've bought from may still need to keep records of past transactions with you for accounting and legal reasons, even after your account is closed — see the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as OneCey grows — new features get new sections, and existing ones get clarified. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do; continuing to use OneCey after a change means you accept the updated terms. For a significant change, we'll try to let you know in the app first.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
